✨ New Service: Scar Tissue Release with Dolphin Neurostim ✨
I’m excited to introduce a new service in my practice: scar tissue release using the Dolphin Neurostim—a gentle, non-invasive neuromuscular stimulation technique designed to help improve mobility, comfort, and tissue response around scars.
This service may help with restricted movement, tenderness, tightness, or altered sensation associated with many common types of scars, including:
• Surgical scars (C-section, hysterectomy, orthopedic, abdominal, laparoscopic)
• Injury or trauma scars
• Burn scars (once fully healed)
• Scar tissue from repetitive strain or overuse
• Post-injection or procedure scars
• Older scars that still feel tight, numb, or sensitive
- Scar tissue can affect more than just the skin—it may influence surrounding muscles, nerves, and movement patterns. This technique focuses on supporting the body’s natural response to scar restriction in a gentle, targeted way.
Techniques and Tools Utilized During Treatments
Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy targets a taut, painful band of muscle in order to release tension and relieve pain.
There will be some pain evoked when the trigger points are compressed; typically there should be a sense of 'release' in the muscle once the trigger points have been worked on and reduced. Symptoms may not be 'fixed' after one visit, however most clients notice an improvement after the first treatment.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release addresses tension caused by the connective tissue surrounding muscles, joints, and bones. Fascia binds the body together and when it becomes restricted it can limit range of motion causing pain. A massage therapist can perform myofascial release by applying gentle traction until the restriction subsides. Fascial work is deeply relaxing and extremely beneficial.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture can be used as a tool during a massage to provide extra pain management for particularly painful trigger points and chronic pain.
Synergy Stones
Hot stone tools are used to relax the muscles and prep tissue to receive deep pressure without causing pain
Relaxation
Swedish massage is the most popular type of massage in North America. The therapist uses their hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate muscle in order to improve mental and physical health. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation , decreased stress and muscle tension, and improved range of motion.
